T1 Acrylic Painted Plant Jars

Course Description

Please note $10 material fee is NOT included in the course cost. Using acrylic pens on glass jars we will paint the outside of the jars and then plant a small plant into the jar. Each student will have two jars to plant two plants in. From Dominique: My workshops follow this structure: • A brief introduction to our theme and medium. • Next, a step-by-step tutorial on: techniques, colour theory, composition, creating form, perspective, or drawing. • Then, allowing space for the student to create a personalized scene applying the above tutorial. Gently guiding and encouraging throughout the process. For the Acrylic Jars and Plants workshop, I will provide some reference images to inspire the students. I will demonstrate some drawing techniques and get the students to plan their designs. Then the students will have the space to create a design of their choice using the learned techniques above and the reference photos, while I assist and guide. They will decorate 2 jars each and pot 2 plants in the jars. There will be a snack break during the workshop before the final pieces. All materials provided (jars, plants, paint, potting soil & labels) About your tutor: I am an artist that chooses to work with watercolour and acrylic for the majority of my art projects. However, I have explored all kinds of mediums from oil pastels, to moulding pastes, to digital art and so much more. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Graphic Design and minoring in Illustration and Fine Art. As you can see by those titles, art is my passion and forms a big part of my day-to-day life. I love creating intentional spaces where people can explore the limitless world of art. My goal is to create a stress-free atmosphere; encouraging the individual to create in a way that is unique to them. With an emphasis on the creative journey and discovering the possibilities of the materials, rather than the final outcome. Come create with me, let’s see where it takes us. What to bring: Drink and Snack Wear suitable clothing for doing artwork. If you have any jars at home you'd like to use, please bring those along. Material fee: $10, paid in cash to the tutor, and will include all materials needed to complete the workshop.
