Course Description
Restore existing windows, make new ones or create decorative individual artworks. Your style and artistic flair will shine in the design and selection of beautiful coloured glass, whether unique boxes, lamps or sculptures. Please note, students will need to purchase their own tools by week 2- see below for details. About your Tutor: Linley has been involved with the lead lighting course at Tresillian for the last 20years. First as a student and now teaching the basic skills to enable you to create your masterpiece. Over the years I have created new windows, restored old windows, created lamps and various decorative pieces in copperfoil. Together we can work out how to make your ideas happen. About the Course This course is not suitable for pregnant or nursing mothers. Some chemicals are used in the process and exposure to soldering fumes - please consider if you have any health concerns before signing up for this course. Learn the basic techniques of lead lighting or copper foiling. Week 1- Learn the principles of cutting glass Weeks 2-8 Select a simple teaching project. Work through the techniques of cutting, grinding, leading up/ foiling and soldering under the guidance of Linley and work at your own pace. What you need to bring Week 1 A list of required tools will be available. Initial tools for the introductory lesson can be loaned through Linley. We have a selection of old tools for you to try before you buy. Week 2 You will need to have purchased your own tools and glass for week 2. Starter packs of tools are available through Perth Art Glass. Starter packs for Copper Foil @ $195 or Lead Light @ $290

Terms and Conditions
A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of the term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Participants in the term courses must be 18+ unless attending the After School or School Holiday workshops. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and the availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is cancelled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
