Course Description

This course is for students who have some experience in watercolours and wish to improve their skills. You will develop your drawing skills and watercolour techniques as we explore a range of subject matter and discuss the best approach to capture the subject effectively. About the tutor: Rhonda was introduced to watercolours some 20 years ago and has been on the journey it brings since. She still gets a few surprises with the medium and is constantly on the look out for new subjects. Currently Rhonda is semi-retired and wishes to pass on the love of watercolour to others. She loves bright happy colours and tends to work with transparent colours more. Rhonda is also a happy camper and loves to travel with her husband around Western Australia. She loves our seascapes, natural bush and flowers. Rhonda exhibits in a variety of exhibitions throughout Perth. All subjects are of interest to her and finding the light is always on her mind. You never stop learning! What you need to bring - see below or bring what you have. 2 sheets of watercolour paper 300gsm rough (Arches, Fabriano, Saunders or any good quality paper) 1 mechanical pencil 1 kneadable rubber 1 A4 visual art diary 1 plastic water jar 1 small spray bottle 1 coreflute board to tape paper to (approx. 50 cm x 40 cm) 1 roll of masking tape 1 watercolour palette 1 roll of kitchen paper 1 x set of synthetic round brushes 1 x rigger brush 1 x chinese brush Bring a mix of whatever watercolour brushes you have. Watercolour paints: a selection of colours that you have, including an indigo, and cobalt blue, French Ultra Marine Blue , Cerulean Blue Burnt sienna, alizarin and Cad Red, raw sienna, Yellow Ochre Other colours can be bought once discussed in class.

Terms and Conditions

A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of the term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Participants in the term courses must be 18+ unless attending the After School or School Holiday workshops. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and the availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is cancelled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
