Course Description
Explore several techniques of printmaking and how to combine these to create unique editions of dynamic prints. You will learn the art of printmaking using a variety of simple but satisfying processes with endless possibilities and without the need for complicated equipment. Note that this class does not use a print press as these are alternative printmaking techniques. About the Tutor: ‘Art is my life’s work. Its who I am, how I spend my days, earn my living and contribute to society.’ Myra Staffa is a graduate of Curtin University. She is a practicing artist and has had a long career in Art Education. Myra has exhibited all over Australia and has work in public and private collections. About the Course: You will learn how to create unique editions of prints using RELIEF Printmaking techniques. This course will cover - step by step the processes of how to make your plate and how to print it. You will learn several processes including: using Styrofoam, lino and gelli plates and how to print alternative versions by using combinations of these techniques, different colours, papers and orientations. No previous printmaking experience is needed. What to bring: Materials List: sketchbook, pencils, notebook, apron Materials Fee $65.00, payable to the tutor at the first class and covers: PRINTMAKING KIT will include all the consumables you will need for your 8-week class. Your kit will contain printing paper (variety of colours, qualities and sizes), transfer paper, lino blocks, styrene blocks; 1 x Derivan Block Ink Intro 5 Colours set (5 tubes of ink - Note ink is worth $36.95 rrp) This ink is essential for these print processes and the tutor sources them at cost for the students. Note you will also have FREE use of the tutor’s own equipment including the use of rollers, brayers, gelli plates, palettes, stationery items, cutting tools etc.

Terms and Conditions
A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made before the beginning of the term. No refund will be given once the term has started. Participants in the term courses must be 18+ unless attending the After School or School Holiday workshops. Classes are not held on public holidays. Course start and finishing dates may vary due to public holidays and the availability of the course tutor. A full refund will only be given if a course is cancelled by the Tresillian Arts Centre. A refund will only be given if you have a medical certificate for the dates you have missed. No pro-rata payments are available for term courses or if classes are unattended by the student.
