T4 Paint with Pastels Int/Adv
Intermediate to Advanced Level - with Fiona Buchanan
Course Description
For those who love painting with pastels and want to extend their existing skills with this expressive medium. Working at an intermediate to advanced level, you will bring depth and complexity to your compositions as you continue to discover what is possible with pastels. Your Tutor: Fiona Buchanan: I am a visual artist and teacher I work in a variety of media and teach in several different media as well. I trained as a large scale scenic artist in Perth and worked for many years here and in Melbourne as a mural and large scale painter. I love Western Australia and often travel in the Southwest of WA, a totally beautiful part of the world to gather reference material for my work. I am inspired to paint the ocean because of the sense of belonging to the Earth that it inspires. I love to paint portraits and to try to represent the emotion of the moment. I work in both pastel and paint. I work in three main areas: Still life, portraiture and seascapes. Each of these areas is a challenge and I love them all. About the Course In this beginner/intermediate class we will be using using a mix of soft and hard pastels on a variety of different papers and surfaces.
