Course Description

About the course: Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic style of yoga that links breath with movement in a flowing sequence of poses. The Course will cover basic poses included in a vinyasa yoga class. We will learn to link movement with the breath and slow down to bring awareness into the body (interoception). We will explore basic breath awareness and try different types of breathing techniques. Guided meditation will be offered and explored as a way of calming the mind and body and settling the nervous system. We will workshop poses included in a typical yoga class including transitional poses, seated and standing poses, balance poses, backbends, forward folds, twists/rotations and savasana. There will be opportunity to explore arm balances and inversions as well as alternative options to these more challenging poses. A regular yoga practice will offer you improved physical and core strength, boost your confidence, and guide you to finding inner calm. A regular yoga practice allows us to age with grace and resilience. Students must be over 18 years of age. About the tutor: Hazel has almost 20 years experience as a yogi, completing her teacher training course in July 2020. She has taught yoga since her qualification, and completed further qualifications in Somatic Yoga and Hot Yoga. She continues to enrich her teaching by practicing and reading avidly about yoga, breath work, and meditation. What students need to bring: Please bring a yoga mat and a yoga block if you have one, and wear comfortable clothes that allow for easy movement.
